Protection Plan

The Steadfast is where thoughtful engineering meets modern design. A swivel-base riser recliner that doesn't ask you to choose between comfort, style and independence. It delivers all three.

Whether you want more support getting in and out of your chair, a better way to unwind at the end of the day, or simply a seat that moves the way you do, The Steadfast responds. At the touch of a button, rise smoothly from sitting to standing, or recline fully with your feet elevated - comfortable, supported, and completely in control.

Comfort & Positioning

This is where The Steadfast earns its place. A quad-motor mechanism gives you infinite positions to settle into - not three or four fixed presets, but a full range you can fine-tune to the exact angle that feels right.

Every part moves independently. Lift the legrest without reclining the back. Tilt the backrest without moving your feet. Adjust the headrest on its own to support your neck just so.

When you want to feel weightless, the Zero Gravity position lifts your legs and cradles your body so your weight is evenly supported - that gentle, floating ease at the end of a long day.

And the smooth 340° swivel base adds a layer of everyday freedom: turn to face the TV, greet visitors, or chase the afternoon sun, all without getting up.

Design

Riser recliners have a reputation for looking medical. We set out to change that. The Steadfast features clean lines, a contemporary silhouette, and a slim swivel base - in polished round chrome or a striking spider-star chrome finish - that wouldn't look out of place in a design magazine.

The clever tilt-in-space mechanism powers every movement, and you'd never know it was there. No visible mechanics, no industrial look - just smooth, controlled motion, completely concealed within a chair that looks like a beautiful piece of furniture.

Thoughtful touches, like the two built-in magazine pockets, keep what you need close at hand. It's a chair you want in your living room — not one you tolerate.

Controls & Power

We don't cut corners:

  • Reinforced steel frame and high-density foam cushioning that holds its shape year after year
  • Rises safely with up to 20 stone (127 kg), with a safety lift-lock for steady, confident movement
  • Quiet quad-motor mechanism engineered for tens of thousands of cycles

And you'd never know the mechanics were there. No visible workings, no industrial look - just smooth, controlled motion concealed within a chair that looks like a beautiful piece of furniture.

Leather Material

Rich, durable and quietly luxurious, our leather gives The Steadfast a warmth and character that deepens with age. It wipes clean in a moment, wears beautifully over the years, and brings a timeless, tailored feel to any living room. Available in a considered range of classic and contemporary tones to suit your space.

Because no two people are the same, The Steadfast comes in a choice of seat heights, widths and depths, so you can find the fit that suits you. After something more personalised? A specific colour perhaps? Get in touch for a customised quote.

Built to Last

We don't cut corners. The Steadfast is built with a reinforced steel frame, high-density foam that holds its shape year after year, and a quiet motor engineered for tens of thousands of cycles. The riser mechanism supports up to 20 stone (127 kg), with a safety lift-lock for steady, confident movement.

Every Steadfast is backed by a 5-year manufacturer's warranty on the chair, so your investment is protected from day one. To safeguard your upholstery too, an optional Staingard fabric care plan is available for £195, guarding against the everyday spills and marks of real life.

Who It's For

Anyone who values comfort and independence. If you'd like more support getting up from your chair, or you simply want a supremely comfortable seat that swivels, reclines and fits your life, The Steadfast is for you.

We're proud of what we build. No gimmicks, no inflated prices, just a chair that does exactly what it should, beautifully.

The most comfortable chair you'll ever sit in

From the moment you sit down, you'll feel the difference. The Steadfast supports you in all the right places - and when you want to change position, the smooth dual tilt-in-space mechanism moves with you, not against you.

Swivel to face the window. Recline a little further. Everything feels easy because it's engineered to be. No rattling, no jolting. Just quiet, steady comfort that makes you wonder how you ever sat in anything else. But don't just take our word for it!

A chair that fits your home, not the other way around

With a carefully considered design and hundreds of fabrics to choose from, your Steadfast will look exactly the way you want it to.

Pick the colour, the texture, the finish - whether that's a classic leather, a soft chenille, or something altogether bolder, it's your chair, your way.

Find Your Fabric

The technology is hidden, but the comfort is obvious.

The Steadfast uses tilt-in-space technology - the kind normally reserved for specialist seating. Instead of pushing you forward or cranking your back flat, the whole chair rises and reclines together, keeping your hips, knees, and ankles at the same comfortable angle throughout. Less strain. More support. In every position.

And because The Steadfast swivels, you can turn to face any direction without standing up. The moment you rise or recline, the swivel locks on its own - so you move freely when you want to, and stay steady when it matters.

Frequently asked questions

What makes The Steadfast different from other riser recliners?

Most riser recliners do one thing: they sit still, facing one direction, tethered to the nearest wall socket. The Steadfast was designed from the ground up to be different.

It swivels smoothly, so you can turn to face the television, the window, or whoever's just come through the door — without getting up. And because it runs on a built-in rechargeable battery, there's no cable to the wall. Just charge it once a week with the magnetic charger that clips onto the back, and place it wherever you like in the room.

Everything is operated from an easy-to-hold handset — raise, recline, rise. Clearly laid out, obvious at a glance, always to hand.

The clever dual tilt-in-space mechanism that powers the movement is completely hidden — no visible mechanics, no industrial look. Just smooth, steady motion you can trust.

Perhaps the biggest difference is how it looks. The Steadfast was designed to be a beautiful piece of furniture — clean lines, quality materials, the kind of chair you're happy to have in your living room. A chair you choose, not one you settled for.

Why does it swivel? Do I really need that?

You might be surprised how much you use it. The 340° swivel means you can turn to face the television, the window, or whoever just walked through the door - without getting up. It's a small freedom that makes a genuine difference to how you use your living room. No more twisting in your seat or craning your neck.

I've heard riser recliners can creak or feel flimsy over time. Is that an issue?

Build quality varies enormously in this market, and we won't pretend otherwise. Some chairs are built to a price; The Steadfast is built to a standard. Quality materials, a solid frame, and a smooth mechanism mean it's designed to feel as good in year five as it does on day one. That's what you should expect from a chair you'll use every day.

Where is The Steadfast made?

Every Steadfast is built in Nottinghamshire - right in the heartland of British furniture making. The region has been home to skilled upholsterers and furniture craftspeople for generations, and that heritage runs through every chair we produce. Each one is finished in the fabric and colour you choose. Keeping production local means better quality control, shorter delivery times, and easier access to support and spare parts if you ever need them. In an industry where many chairs are imported and assembled from overseas components, we're proud that ours are built right here in Britain.

How do the controls work?

Everything sits on a single handset: raise, recline, and rise. The buttons are clearly laid out and comfortable to hold, so it's obvious at a glance which one you want — no menus, no guesswork. Press and the chair moves gently; release and it stops exactly where you are.

I'm worried a riser recliner will make me look old. Is this really for me?

We hear this a lot, and we understand it completely. Nobody wants their living room to feel like a waiting room. That's exactly why we made The Steadfast the way we did - it looks like a chair you'd choose because you love it, not because you needed it. Our customers are active, engaged people who value good design and happen to want more comfort or a bit of help standing. There's nothing to apologise for in that.

Does The Steadfast need to be plugged in?

No. The Steadfast is fully wireless - it runs on a built-in rechargeable battery, so there's no cable to the wall and no socket to plan around. You just clip the magnetic charger onto the back of the chair to charge it once a week, and that's it. The rest of the time, it's completely cable-free. Place it wherever you like in the room.

What happens if there's a power cut?

It makes no difference. The Steadfast is fully wireless - it runs on a built-in rechargeable battery, not a mains connection. So whether the power's on or off, your chair works exactly the same way. You're never left stuck.

Am I eligible for VAT relief?

If you have a long-term health condition or disability - such as arthritis, diabetes, or a condition that affects your ability to carry out everyday activities - you may be eligible to purchase The Steadfast without paying VAT. You don't need a doctor's letter; you simply complete a short VAT exemption declaration. It's a straightforward process, and we're happy to walk you through it.
